Three Rustlers named to Women’s Hockey All-Conference Team
In the Lakeland Rustlers' first season in the ACAC 3 members of the women's program were named to the ACAC All-Conference team
Olivia Mann was named a Second Team All-Conference Defender. Mann, who is from Lloydminster and enrolled in the Bachelor of Education program, had an excellent year for the Rustlers as one of the stable forces on the Rustler's blue line. She also packed an offensive punch for the Rustlers scoring 3 goals and adding 7 assists to finish second in points for the Rustlers.
Mackenzie Dojahn, a first-year Bachelor of Arts student from Bentley, Alberta, was named a second-team All-Conference goalie. Dojahn was near or at the top of all the goaltending stats for most of the season and finished the year with a .925 save percentage and a 1.95 goals-against average. Her growth over the year in goal was significant, and the Rustlers look forward to seeing her continue developing as a top goalie in the ACAC.
Hailey Carothers was named a first-team All-Conference forward. The first-year University Transfer student-athlete from Lac La Biche had a breakout season leading the ACAC in points with 27 and goals with 19, more than double the amount compared to the next closest player in the Conference. She was also named ACAC Rookie and Player of the Year for her efforts.
The Rustler student-athletes were presented with their awards on March 17th at NAIT.
Congratulations to all the Rustlers women's hockey student-athletes on a fantastic first season in the ACAC.
