Rustler Hockey Players and Coach named to All-Star team
This week the Alberta Junior Female Hockey League announced its League All-star Teams. The Lakeland College Kings Energy Group Rustlers had no shortage of representation on the squad locking up 5 spots on the team and Head Coach Morgan Mann will be behind the bench leading the North Division.
Lana Duriez from Paradise Hill, Saskatchewan had a great season for the Rustlers scoring 20 times and adding 20 assists for 40 points and 4th place in league scoring. Duriez has not slowed down in the Rustler's 6 playoff games adding 11 points to her stat line averaging almost 2 points per game.
Jayde Cadieux hails from Cold Lake, Alberta, and is the captain of the 2021 – 2022 team. Cadieux scored 12 times in the regular season and added 20 assists to lead the Rustlers to first place in the AJFHL North Division. In the 6 playoff, games so far this season Cadieux has been on incredible pace scoring 9 times and adding 6 assists leading the Rustlers to the AJFHL final.
MacKenzie Stafford a product of Marwayne, Alberta also had a great year for the Rustlers. Stafford led the Rustlers in goals scored with 25 and added 10 assists to finish second on the team in points. Stafford has added 4 more points in the postseason and has played some great hockey on the way to the league final series.
Olivia Mann from Lloydminster had a great season on the D line for the Rustlers. As well as giving a solid defensive performance this past year she also led all Rustler defense with 20 points. Mann has added 5 additional points in the playoffs averaging almost a point a game.
Chantel Weller is from Saskatoon Saskatchewan. Weller competed in 15 of the Rustler's 24 regular-season games and earned 12 wins, 4 of which were shutouts. In the 6 playoffs games, Weller has amassed a 5 and 1 record averaging 1.51 goals against and a solid .934 save percentage.
Morgan Mann, in his inaugural season leading the Rustlers, was recently named to coach the North team All-Stars in the All-Star game slated to occur on April 2 in Fort Saskatchewan. Mann has done a great job with the first-year Rustlers program in the league, guiding the team to a 19 – 4 – 1 regular-season record and a 5 and 1 record in the playoffs to date.
The Rustlers have truly had a great season so far, from individual acknowledgments to their overall success as a team. The team will continue their pursuit for the league championship this weekend as they travel to Lethbridge for games 3 and 4 of the best of 5 series.
