Women’s Hockey Finish Regular Season in First
After 24 regular-season games, the Lakeland Kings Energy Group Rustlers Women's Hockey team will finish first in the North Division with a record of 19 – 4 - 1.
The Rustlers will start the playoffs on the February 19th, 20th weekend against the Fort Saskatchewan Fury in a best of 3 series. The season has not only been an impressive one for the team but also some student-athletes individually as well.
The Rustlers have 3 student-athletes in the top 10 in scoring in the entire league. Lana Duriez, Mackenzie Stafford, and Jayde Cadieux have amassed some impressive stats over the season to be among the league leaders in the Alberta Junior Female Hockey League.
Goalie Chantel Weller is 3rd in the league in goals against and has had a great season to date. If the Rustlers can carry the momentum into the playoffs they have built over the regular season they should be playing well into March.
