Tori Dugan Honoured as 2021-22 ACAC Women’s Player of the Year

The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Tori Dugan of the Lakeland Rustlers has been selected as the 2021-22 ACAC Women's Player of the Year.

In the 2021–22 season, Dugan averaged 13.9 ppg and shot 41.1 FG percentage, 43.2 3pt percentage and 73.5 per cent from the free throw line, leading her team to a perfect 16-0 regular season as well as to the ACAC Gold medal.   She led the ACAC in assists, assist/turnover ratio and in 3-point shooting percentage. At the CCAA national championships, she was awarded the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Women's basketball player of the year. She was named player of the game twice over the tournament as well as selected to the All-Star team. Dugan also led her team to a CCAA bronze medal.

"Tori was the undisputed leader of our team and a great mentor for the younger Rustlers," commented Chris King Lakelands's head coach. "Tori is also a fantastic role model to a generation of future basketball players in the Lloydminster area where she has coached several camps and teaches in a basketball academy. 

Dugan hails from Perth, Australia, and has completed her fifth year of eligibility. She will move on from Lakeland with a bachelor of arts degree. In her five years of playing for the Rustlers, she has led the team to a 98-14 regular season record, two undefeated seasons, an ACAC Bronze Medal in 2019, and the programs first ACAC Gold Medal in 2020. Tori will be continuing her playing career in New Zealand as she recently signed a division 1 pro contract.
