Sport: Men's Volleyball
What year(s) did you compete for Lakeland: 2012 - 2017
How did playing for the Rustlers help you get to where you are today?
Playing for the Rustlers helped me learn how to ensure to always communicate with anyone in my personal life or current career. It also taught me how to cherish opportunities that many don't have the chance to experience!
Where are you working right now and what are you doing?
Currently I am working as the Courtside Logistics Coordinator for Volleyball Alberta, while assistant coaching at the Univeristy of Alberta and coaching club volleyball in Edmonton.
Are you still involved with volleyball now? Coaching/ playing etc.
Yes I am! Coaching only though, currently I am assistant coaching at the University of Alberta Golden Bears and NAVC 17U, while winning the National Championship with both teams.
What was your favorite moment at Lakeland as a student-athlete?
I don't think I could pick an exact moment but every single game day was a feeling like no other. The chance to focus an entire day on what needs to be done to play the sport you love with your teammates are moments that most will only experience during the post secondary experience!
Are you still close with any former teammates?
Yes, luckily enough I am close with about a dozen of ex-teammates throughout my 5 years at Lakeland. Most of us are scattered across western Canada, but always great to catch up with them in person or just seeing what they are doing in their lives over social media.
If you could give a couple of words of advice to our current Rustlers what would it be?
Don't take any time for granted! Its an amazing experience at a campus that is like no other.
