Thank You Seniors!
Paris Appel, Women's Hockey
Position: Forward
Hometown: Swift Current, SK
Years as a Rustler: 4
Program: University Transfer – Registered Nursing
Paris was a part of the early core of the women's program when they officially began ACAC Sanctioned league play in the fall of 2022. Like many members of the team over the past few years, her physicality and effort helped contribute to the high standard of the program that has propelled Lakeland to the top of the ACAC ranks in the sport.
In her four seasons, she scored 24 points (11 goals and 13 assists), including a career high 13 in 2024. Paris also racked up 74 penalty minutes during that span. She ends her time at Lakeland having won ACAC bronze, silver and two gold medals and is pursuing a career as a registered nurse.
Ava Cole, Women's Hockey
Position: Defence
Hometown: Edam, SK
Years as a Rustler: 4
Program: University Transfer – Registered Nursing
Ava Cole has been a rock for Rustlers hockey from the moment she first arrived in Lloydminster. A quality skater, deft passer and tenacious defensively, Ava quickly became a player capable of filling any role on the blue line and playing big minutes as she joined the program in its inaugural ACAC season.
Since then, she has been a part of all the team's big moments, when the group first finished first in the regular season, an ACAC silver medal, two ACAC titles and the RSEQ National Collegiate Invitational. In 81 career games, Ava scored 29 points (26 of them assists) and posted 52 penalty minutes, while leading the league in blocked shots.
As Cole graduates as a registered nurse this year, her team will remember an absolute warrior who showed up for the big games and protected her teammates.
David Dimaano, Men's Basketball
Position: Guard
Hometown: Lloydminster, AB
Years as a Rustler: 5
Program: University Transfer
Lloydminster Comprehensive graduate David Dimaano played his fifth and final season with the Rustlers this year, playing a key role as a veteran point guard. His journey from being at the end of the bench to playing big minutes in playoff games is one of the best stories to come out of the 2026 campaign.
David more than doubled his minutes and set career highs in essentially every statistical category, from points to steals. For his career, he was an efficient 3-point shooter, hitting 39.2 of his shots from beyond the arc.
During his time as a Rustler, David was a part of two bronze medal winning squads and this year's fourth place team, where he served as the sixth man on one of the nation's top teams. But what teammates and fans will remember most is a textbook example of a heart and soul player that every coach loves, frequently making momentum shifting plays off extra effort. For this, the fifth-year guard was given the team's Rustler Award this spring.
Bahaeddin 'Baha' Salma, Men's Basketball
Position: Guard
Hometown: Saskatoon, SK
Years as a Rustler: 5
Program: Bachelor of Science - Biology
Baha Salma has been a staple of the men's basketball team for the past five years and an active member of student life on Lloydminster Campus. Since joining the program in 2021, Baha quickly worked his way to becoming a starter in his second year, establishing himself as a terrific two-way player.
He leaves Lakeland as a two-time ACAC bronze medal winner, earning an ACAC Championship All-Star nod in 2024. Baha was also a 3-time All-Conference member and the 2026 North Defensive Player of the Year, a distinction within the men's program that he won three straight years at the annual Rustlers Awards Gala. Posting career totals of 10.4 points per game, 4.2 rebounds per game and 1.6 steals per game, he is now the all-time leader in Lakeland history for steals with 144.
Baha also embraced the classroom part of being a student athlete, becoming a CCAA National Scholar. This next academic year, he leaves for the University of Saskatchewan, where he will complete his Bachelor of Science.
Emma Jeffs, Women's Volleyball
Position: Middle
Hometown: Peace River, AB
Years as a Rustler: 5
Program: Bachelor of Education
After making the team at the last minute in 2022, Emma slowly worked her way into becoming a starting middle for the past two seasons. Her quickness and poise helped the squad maintain their status as one of the best blocking teams in the country, but she also had big moments offensively, including in each of the last two national championships.
While not a heavily relied upon attacker, she is one of the most consistent players in that department to come through the program. This season she had no hitting errors in 13 of the 17 matches she played and never had more than a single hitting error in the other four. In total, she had 49 kills and 4 errors on 84 swings, good for a hitting percentage of .536.
Among her accolades are being a 4-time ACAC/CCAA champion, along with winning an ACAC silver, and a CCAA National Scholar. What her teammates will most remember is the positive energy she brought to the gym, locker room and beyond as a member of the women's volleyball program.
Seanna Trumier, Women's Volleyball
Position: Libero
Hometown: Prince Albert, SK
Years as a Rustler: 5
Program: Bachelor of Education
Seanna Trumier has been a rock for the women's volleyball program, since she took over the starting libero spot during her sophomore season. Hailing from Prince Albert and a member of the Team Saskatchewan program, Seanna displayed physically, smarts and competitiveness at a high level, becoming critical part of this four-year championship run.
While she could have played left-side at more than a dozen CCAA schools, (a role she briefly played for the Rustlers in 2023), Seanna instead became the most poised, consistent libero in the league, making it easy for her teammates to transition on offence. Digs that would appear spectacular for other athletes appeared routine when she completed them.
At the end of her five years, Seanna finished fourth and second all-time in Lakeland history for total digs and digs per set. She was recognized as an ACAC All-Conference member in 2024, twice as a CCAA National Scholar and this season she was named a Tournament All-Star at the CCAA Championship, which qualified her as a CCAA Academic All-Canadian. During this run, she also accrued Team Sask accolades, finishing fourth at the Canada Summer Games in 2022 and being named Sask U21 Female Athlete of the Year in 2024.
What her teammates will remember far more than any of her on-court accomplishments is an athlete who let her play do the talking and who was impossible to rattle.
Avery Bates, Women's Volleyball
Position: Right-side
Hometown: Acme, AB
Years as a Rustler: 5
Program: Bachelor of Education
Avery Bates leaves an undeniable mark on the women's volleyball program at Lakeland. Arriving in 2020, during the COVID-19 lost season, she quickly became the team's starting right-side and one of the most physically imposing attackers and blockers in the country.
In her five years of wearing the Rustler colours, Avery has accrued an incredible list of accomplishments. She is an All-Canadian, an Academic All-Canadian, an ACAC All-Conference member, a CCAA Championship All-Star, an ACAC and CCAA Championship MVP, ACAC North Player of the Year and Lakeland College Female Athlete of the Year. As a member of the women's team, she is an ACAC silver medalist, a 4-time ACAC Champion and a 4-time CCAA Champion.
Statically, Avery is third in program history for kills and blocks and top 20 all-time in ACAC history. Had the team not routinely won in straight sets, she would have been on pace to finish top five, as she was producing nearly 5 points per set in multiple seasons.
She will also be remembered as a beloved teammate, dedicated student and great ambassador as a student athlete, connecting with dozens of young kids who came through the Rustlers youth volleyball programming. Avery will finish her Bachelor of Education this upcoming year, while assisting with the team.
