Rustlers Weekend Recap - November 10, 2025
Just one Rustler team was in action over the weekend and they kept the winning momentum in November alive.
Women's hockey had their first three-game road trip for the regular season, a long journey down to Medicine Hat. There's they faced an improved Rattlers squad that has played every opponent tough this fall.
Friday night's tilt saw the Rustlers grab an early lead, scoring twice in the first five minutes and adding another in the dying seconds of the opening frame. From there, they maintained that gap late into the third period for a 3-1 victory. Marly Dumanski had two goals and an assist, while Claudia Lammers added a goal and an assist. Paige Fischer made 9 saves for the W.
Saturday, the Rustlers were in command throughout, limiting the Rattlers to just 12 shots in a 4-0 win. Dumanski duplicated her offensive performance from the previous evening, Lammers had two more assists, while Keyra Buziak had a goal and two assists. Shay Camphaug made 12 saves for the shutout.
Sunday, after the Rustlers grew their lead to 4-0 again in the second, the home team pushed back against Lakeland, battling late to close the gap in the score. Ultimately the Rustlers prevailed 4-3, with defenceman Julianna Giacobbo winning POG after scoring what became the winning goal. Lammers added a pair of goals and Buziak added a pair of assists. Shebli Thunderblanket made 13 saves.
Women's hockey, sitting at a league best 9-1, now have a bye week to rest and recuperate for the remaining two weekends of league play in semester one. Howevever, it's a busy weekend for the rest of Rustler Athletics.
Basketball hit the road, where they will face the Lethbridge Kodiaks and SAIT Trojans. Men's volleyball will host those same schools Friday and Saturday evening at 6:00 pm in the Lloyd Campus Gym.
